Critical access facility expands use of Medsphere for RCM

By | July 27, 2019

Guadalupe County Hospital, a 10-bed critical access hospital in Santa Rosa, N.M., is shifting to use Medsphere Systems’ revenue cycle management suite.

The small facility has used Medsphere’s CareVue electronic health records system since 2011.

“CareVue has become such an essential component in the care we provide; adding the revenue cycle cloud was a natural extension of our system,” says CEO Christina Campos. “As a safety net provider and the only hospital within many miles, it is essential that we put Guadalupe County Hospital on the best possible financial footing.”

The hospital was able to add the revenue cycle software with minimal disruption, which makes the project a relatively straightforward and risk-free decision.

Guadalupe County Hospital was able to take the step to improving the revenue cycle via a subscription service arrangement with Medsphere. The hospital handles about 250 admissions and 2,500 emergency room visits annually, serving a county with a population of about 4,700 people.
